Hey Sean, totally agree on consumers not necessarily wanting info overload (especially more ads...). But I would add that access to virtual worlds won't (or at least shouldn't) be limited to wearables - we should be able to enter using computers and phones to increase accessibility, especially for the people who can't afford a headset. The closest things to Metaverses right now are; Fortnite can be played on a computer, Decentraland even on a browser.

Also, it'd be cool to see data from various devices (IoT) feed into the Metaverse, from cameras to smart homes to your car to even things like your clothes, etc.

Loving the articles, keep it up!

The Metaverse as a full time activity is hell. That's the vision in "Hyperreality" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJg02ivYzSs). That's a satire, or a warning, of the Zuckerberg vision of the metaverse. The metaverse as a recreational and social space is already here. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdvGlwKPVk4) That's a video of Second Life at its best, by a Second Life user who is becoming the philosopher/poet of the Metaverse with her quiet videos.

This will not be as pervasive as smartphones, but for the growing population that likes to socialize in game-like environments, we can do better than the Fortnite lobby.
